Are you sure FFRs had tacho's
Hi, any info on fitting a tacho to 110 perentie 1988 GS FFW
Army Number 48264..... want to keep as standard as possible, maybe someone has a tacho from an FFR for sale!!!! 3.9 Isuzu standard from army.
Thanks
Are you sure FFRs had tacho's
They are reasonably easy to fit. Probably the best way is to get an electrical one like VDO, 0-4000 rpm. That way you can use the alternator as the pickup. There is a pic of the alternator on mine (same alternator as yours) with the pickup wire attachment point on a recent thread (alternator w connection). Look it up and you will see where the wire is attached. Unless you are very handy with electrics you will probably need an auto leccy to calibrate the tacho. Here is a picture of mine, tacho on right. It is only a 50mm one as there is not much mounting room on a 110.

R&D 110 and early 6X6 had tacho on top of the dash.
trying to get them into the contract sale I guess.
FFR had hourmeter and voltmeter in center dash.
VDO aftermarket tacho.
I got a genuine Isuzu tacho from Zenith Engineering, the Isuzu industrial engine dealer in Brisbane. It work from a sensor that replaces one of the plugs in the bottom of the injection pump. Unscrew the plug, screw in the sensor and just wire it up. simple installation. Hardest part on my County was finding space on the dash.

Thanks for all the answers. I have no issue with the wiring up of the tacho, more looking for someone who has the original tacho pod from an FFR, to mount in the centre. When I purchased this vehicle from Gray's there were other Army Land Rovers with these, I thought they were FFR, but that could be a series 3 term???? unsure
I added a VDO Tacho to my 6x6. Very simple 3-wie install, although I did have to have a W Terminal wire added to the Alt.
there are no tachos in perenties as OEM fit the engine has a governor that deals with min/max RPMS so you dont need one.
if you're tuning one you just use a clip on tacho or a reflective type one with a sticker on the crank.
