I got my 05 D3 6 weeks ago. Still finding any reason to get in it for a spin . Heading to Tim's Thicket or Whitehills on the weekend for its first real drive. Can't wait.

Don't forget....sand mode, dsc off.....and low range helps in keeping dsc from kicking in. Little throttle only is required.

    Should be nice and soft.

    Have fun.

    Thanks Brett.

I've read a couple of the sand driving threads in preparation. I've done lots of sand work in various vehicles (the last being a D40 Navara) but must admit to being a fraction nervous in anticipation of taking the Disco out. Seems the throttle technique is counter intuiative to the Nav technique (read: no technique, start slowing......push harder.....) and remembering to turn off the dsc each time (not just a disco issue, my brother got caugh out in his 200 down at Augusta recently) worries my forgetfull mind Having said that can't wait to get into it.

    Cheers David.

I was driving my D4 at Whitehills on Sunday. I have 285 x 60 R18 D697 tyres and although the sand is soft there were no issues. There were hundreds of 4bys there and for the first time ever, no one was getting stuck.

Hi Bluepippa the great news is that the permagrin doesn't wear off and if you have the misfortune of driving a different vehicle it only grows

    Cheers
