Diesel retro fit to classic RR advice

I am considering restoring an early two door RR. I would like to investigate fitting a diesel engine and possibly an updated transmission auto or manual.etc. Can anyone advise what arrangement is required, or direct me to previous projects like this. Can a discovery TDI drive train be used ?
Also. Has anyone ever used a RR or Discovery rolling chassis under a series three short wheel base landrover ? any info available on that ?
    Cheers...Shawry

a lot of people drop Isuzu 4bd1ts in rangies, a lot of people also do the tdi conversion, which is easy if u have a disco to take everything off, I know one guy who put a rangie body on a tdi disco chassis. id rather put the Isuzu into it cause theyre a bullet proof engine.
