Wow, loved the old Garratts, looks like they are making good progress with the restoration, can hardly wait to see it running!!!

At the time that Loco was made, I was living in Manchester, a place called Abbey Hey, walking distance from the Gorton Railyards, where Beyer Peacock was located. They were MASSIVE works. We used to go train spotting there as all the young boys did in those days.

Used to fire those on the Glenlea to White Bay coal trains and Gosford to Newcastle & return . Bloody hard to fire by hand when the stoker screw gave up .
