    Pork Pie rear lights

I was offered a pair of NOS Pork Pie's today (didn't discuss price) but they are different to the ones fitted to my Series I.
I have one with a glass lens and one with a plastic lens.

    Glass

    Plastic

The ones I was offered had a plastic lenses and a very different shape.
Mine have a curved surface to the lens, the ones today had a raised section in the centre (difficult to describe but the lens had angled sides with a raised flat section in the centre).
The metal work was identical to mine.

Looking in James Taylor's 'Original Land-Rover Series I' book page 73 shows a lamp identical to mine.

Did the shape change or are they not the correct lamps I was offered ??

I was also offered a new steering wheel centre & horn button assembly for a Series I, NOS in the Lucas box. I will ask the price but currently negotiating for a younger Land Rover he has for sale.

    Thanks Jim,
Are you saying the early ones were plastic and then they went to glass ?
The ones offered were plastic lenses.

The guy wants to put them on Ebay. Once I've done the deal for the 109" GS I'll get a 'buy in now' price from him.
I also need to think about the steering wheel centre. Mine has a broken horn button but I think he'll want more than I paid for my Series I for it.

They would certainly suit something old.
