how loose if the clutch pedal?

I have had my '61 in dry dock for a few years. I have another engine fitted and bits and pieces of the body all over the place. I currently have the clutch pedal assembly out to replace the master cylinder (easier that way) and the pedal is quite stiff, in fact, very stiff. I have cleaned it all up and everything but couldn't get the bearing/bush out as I did plan to replace it while it's out. is a lot of stiffness normal or should it be floppy?

If it's not connected to anything, it should move smoothly and freely. Sounds like it's a bit gummed up.

There's a 1/8" diameter pin that needs to be drifted out to get the pivot pin out of the pedal box. It looks it was originally inserted and then hit in the centre to bend it to stop it coming out, I replaced mine with roll pins.
Once the pivot pin has been de-rusted and the bushes cleaned it will become loose again. There is a bolt in the end of the pivot pin that can be romoved for oiling/greasing.

Thanks guys. I managed to get the cotter pin out but can't budge the bearing/bush Might just drop it in to the guy who got the high tensile bolt I snapped in the flywheel, sure he has a press...

I got the cotter pin out and with the help of a lot of WD40, a drift and a big hammer, it all came apart. All cleaned up now, all nice and shiny and very floppy. Very happy here - and yes "will d8r" I too put in a grease nipple.
