driven both but only realy around town. the 2.2 was zippyer and nicer to drive, quicker off the line with out reving it so much etc etc.

I know a few have told me the 2.2 Puma is noticeably better to drive than the early 2.4s.
Does the same apply to the last of the 2.4s vs the early 2.2s?

SubscriberI don't think the 2.4 evolved much over it's lifespan, so I a later 2.4 would be the same as an early 2.4, except being obviously newer...
Having moved from a 2009 2.4 to a 2013 2.2, the 2.2 was noticeable better, less vibration, noise and much smoother. It just feels nicer to drive - I can't say there was a measurable performance increase - but certainly no decrease.
If I hadn't of driven the 2.2 I would not have known the differences, the 2.4 was OK to live with too. As long as you don't drive a 2.2 you won't know what you are missing out on.
