Blue oval plans to send-off its revered GT with an iconic power output.
Drive can exclusively reveal that Ford Performance Vehicles will send-off the GT Falcon with the most powerful production engine it has ever had, an upgraded version of the 5.0-litre supercharged V8 that, in reference to the cubic capacity of the hallowed engines that powered Bathurst-winning GTs of the 1970s, produces 351kW.
Drive's sources indicate the elevation in power from the current 335kW to 351kW will, not surprisingly, make the limited edition the fastest GT of all time, with the ability to accelerate from 0-100km/h in around 4.7sec.
The additional power will be matched by a host of mechanical upgrades and visual tweaks to make the 'final edition' a genuine collector's item. It is expected to include FPV's top-shelf six-piston Brembo brakes, stiffer R-Spec suspension and wider rear tyres as well as a unique set of stickers and stripes that honours the heritage of the GT badge.
