			Glow plugs staying on

					Hi guys,
I've been installing my traxide system and somewhere along the way the glow plug light on the dash came on and is staying on. I think the glow plugs may also be on because my battery went flat while i've been doing things. The radio was also on so i don't know if it was that.

As a side note and hopefully not related. My installation was not standard becasue i already had a cable run to a anderson plug (prvious owner) but from the main battery. It had an isolator connected to it like the one in the link below. One of the cable i never figured out what it did and forgot to try and tace it out so i just left it dsiconnected because i'm not sure how this thing works and whether it should be hard connected to 12V. it was one of the smaller lugs. on the right looking at it from the front

Does anyone have any idea what I might have done to cause the glow plug light tom come on?

And second. does the glow plugs keep glowing when the engine is off or does all the electrics shutdown after a few minutes. I read somewhere (I think the traxide guide) that when the hand brake light goes out all the electrics are off. Hope so, or in 3 hours or so my battery is flat.

I tried to find a fuse to pull but can't narrow it down.

Well, the car started fine this morning and the light is off now....go figure!

					Hi Dindsy
Did you ever track a problem down for this issue? I've just had a few intermittent warning/fault lights come up on my dash over the last few weeks.
They normally go away after a while. My glow plug light stayed on yesterday, did a hard reset (disconnected and touch battery leads together), and it went away.
But today, I have another warning light staying up (with no faults or related warnings)...

Did you replace your battery shortly after this occurred? I've heard that a low battery can cause some of these 'intermittent' faults...???

 Thanks.

 Rob

Remove that unit!!! Its a nice surge inducing solenoid!!!

As for the small wire, the smaller lugs are the trigger (just like a normal relay) should be one from a positive source (switched) and one to earth...

The larger terminals are for the power flow..
