Gold band snapper

Had a great day out today chasing gold band snapper in 110 meters of water , what a work out who needs the gym.

They are prized fish over here in Exmouth and can be quite tricky to find as they live on flat ground with no structure in deep water.

Also got a nice Macky on the way home.

Can't wait for dinner.

110m - that is getting deep !

I hope you dont have to anchor in that murk? 70m is deep enough for me anything over that is drifting country!

too rough to go out the fornt with Ita Rita and all steaming down on us and too much fresh to bash the rivers - vicariously seeing others catch tasy reefies is as good as it gets for me!!!!!

Goldband Snapper is the proper common name AFAIK. FISHline - Species Info

They are very common in fish shops over here (never caught one, very jealous). My dad has also bought them from the BNE fish markets as gold band snapper.

Id be guessing though your gold band snapper, like a rosy job are not exactly in the swampy black tailed barra category when it comes to chewing time

Hi Steve as above mate there real name is gold band snapper they don't grow to big but are delicious.

We get tonnes of them come in from the fish trap boats. Seen them up to 7kg most we get are around 3-4kg.

Rosey's are similar but they are a different fish, also called Sharp tooth gold band but think that's just a local thing.

A very common restaurant fish around Brisbane.

Some time into the future,when some sort of normality returns to life, Im hoping to head as far as Exmouth of a proper fishing trip with my freshly retired good mate Graz.
A few years back whilst slurping Monkey Blood at Cape Riche on the south coast we made a pact.When he retires and I get my long service leave we is heading north a fishin.I was to provide the boat,he the accomodation.
We are on track,I now have that boat and he has the accomodation,a Kimberley Karavan.
Just got to get over this nasty hickup we got delt with Deb getting crook.Get some coins together and hopefully a new tow vehicle to replace the D2

I have a Great Suggestion for you to put some High Quality Plastic Barriers around your Fishing track for safety purpose .
