    Gear Stick Rattle Puma

My 2007 Puma has around 250,000km on it and I have noticed a rattle from the gearstick, when it starts to labour a bit under load. The gearbox itself is very quiet and smooth. I suspect it is more likely a bit of wear at the selector or end of gearstick, but just wondering if anyone else has had a similar rattle, and what it's likely to be?

    Cheers
    Brid

Found the answer to my question here...

...looks like it's most likely going to be the weight stack at the base of gearstick.

Had the same rattle when new, took the stick out and used super glue on the weights, not an issue any more.

I was interested to see the Ford logo emblazoned on the shaft plastic when I did the job . Obviously knowing they are ford parts, but its just funny seeing it.

Just do what we used to do in the series. Goto Australia post and ask for a bag of anti rattle springs (large red rubber bands (if pressed say you do bulk mailing and need to bundle)). Apply between all levers and knobs.
