    Canvas slipping out of header rail

    Howdy,
    I picked up my Perentie from the Brisbane yards last week and the front of the tilt was out of the header rail. Of course I just thought the guys at Frontline didn't put it on correctly.

    So today i took off the cargo rack up top and loosened up the tilt. Then I loosened up the header rail quick releases, pushed the tilt into the rail and closed up the handles.

    It lasted about 10 minutes on an open road before popping out again.

    The canvas is in good condition and the rubber inside the tilt seems to be pretty dense.

    Anyone have any hints? It looks like a good system, but I certainly never had this problem with my S2A.....

    I would think you should have to thread it into the sail track rather than "push it in".

    Either a repair on the front roll of the canopy,

    ... or peen the track a bit tighter for a quick fix would be my suggestion

    It will be interesting to see what others come up with because I've seen it on happen on quite a few at the Minto auctions

    hootchie cord laid into the channle.

    it means either the edging of the canvas has been compressed over time or that the clamps have lost tension and require adjusting.

    The rubber that's sewn inside the canvas still seems to be pretty robust. Maybe I'll put it back on and then adjust the levers--if I can do that with the top on.

    Somebody mentioned there were a few at the auctions with this happening, so I'm sure it's just an adjustment issue.

    Hi, yes it will just be an adjustment of the quick release knobs inside the cab. It is not a rope track but as you said you tuck it into a slot then clamp it down.

    The quick release knobs simply turn clockwise (when released) to "tighten" up or in real terms they shorten the thread and then clamp down tight. if you turn them too much you simply will not be able to push them back up closed.
