    Defender 2.2 Intercooler hoses.

    Well,
After a flurry of emails i have identified the two variants of 2.2 Inter-cooler hoses, Early and Late. See attached pics.
So i suppose this means there are two types of Inter-cooler after market. In fact i will ask the question.

I am now wondering if the radiator hoses or other components also change along the way.

By all means get a Defender. If you get a good one, you'll be happy. If you get a bad one, you'll become a philosopher.

    Hi,

Thanks for your post. Looks like mine is the early type.
Engine build date 1st march 2012. Chassis 420355. I can see 3 out of 4 of the pipes shown
in your early type picture but can't see the 135 degree elbow one under
my bonnet. It might be in there somewhere?

An earlier post reported rubbing on turbo hose elbow between the radiator and the turbo. The post reported that this hose rubbed on the steering column and mine is doing that.

    Picture attached.

I reported this issue to the dealer and their reply was

"Yes there was a known problem so they (Land Rover) redesigned the hose not to rub.
Unfortunately the newly designed hose also rubbed on the steering column.
We will get back to you when they (Land Rover) have come up with a better
    design."

    I am still waiting . . .

    Kerry.

I can't add much more, just going on what Allisport told me. It seems the changeover is not clearly identified by chassis number.

My Defender is not even built and I am buying spares!

I wonder if some wax or grease would slow down the wearing process
