    HAPPY BIRTHDAY RUBIK'S CUBE

Yes, the Rubix cube is 40 years old today.

Who, like me , failed to ever achieve solving it?

Who , unlike me , mastered it and in what time could you solve it?

40 years.....hell.....what happened to my youth?

I just told SWMBO it was the Cubes 40th.
She thanked me for reminding her how old she was!
    It was no trouble.

I solved it, but bought a book to cheat.

I can do the first 2 layers easily enough (or I used to be able to) but I needed to cheat and look at the solution to the last layer. I had a bit of paper with the corner flips and edge twirl solutions on it...

I solved it a young age by pulling it apart and putting jot back together the right way. I thought I was very clever. Cheating I know. I could solve one side and one row. I wouldn't mind getting one for my daughter.

My 15 year son, three weeks into a nine week leadership course, has email me a week ago asking for a ‘Speed Rubix Cube’. The reason, because he just has to have one.
I’ve just reminded him that old things are still very desirable!

With a bit of practice (lots of flights from Perth to Sydney), I got it down to about 90 seconds - 2mins pretty consistently.

Must go find it and give it another crack.
