    Wiper Washers

The thread on auto wipers prompted me to ask the question about the wipers wiping twice before the water comes out.

Can this be adjusted using the faultmate or is this a dealer thing, it really does reduce the wiper life, especially when on dirt roads or muddy conditions, we've had to buy new blades after we return home from our long trips away.

There is a check valve inline to keep the water all the way to the washers.

    On mine, water is instant.

Perhaps yours is failing, meaning the pump primes the entire hose system before spraying...

    Might pay to check...

Like Tombie, my front ones are instantaneous, but the rear one always leaked (and down the inside of the window), so the water was ready for use in the line so the dealer replaced the valve. It did have to be ordered in though.

    Wiper washers

I have a question, do the headlight washers come on at the same time as the windscreen washers, or only intermittently?

Can this be adjusted at all?

Reason is that I noticed headlights are still dirty even when w/screen is clean, water is instantaneous at the jets, so I dont believe the check valve is blocked /failing

    Cheers

    Eric

As said above mine is instant to and it doesn't start wiping until they have wet the screen.

As for headlight washers i believe they must only come on every certain amount of windscreen washes, but they are next to useless i believe they do pretty much nothing.

The headlight washers only wash when the headlights are on.

So when you get the entire front of the car covered in mud film turn on your lights before you give the windscreen a few sprays - the headlight spray sort of moves some of the mud filth off the lights. In theory ... !

I went to a dealer about it, their reply, "Oh it came like that from the factory so we can't change it, we can give you the part, but you'll have to do it yourself" apparently the one way valves are working, but they are too close to the end and aren't holding enough water, so as far as they are concerned there's nothing wrong

So on that, we walked out with a oneway valve, that they gave us and suggested we put it closer to the washer bottle, so we did and it worked for a couple of weeks and then went back to the way it was.

Thank you again LR for your top notch customer service
