    Thumbs up other "make" waves

My partner and I were wondering earlier today while driving past a fine 110 down near willunga in SA,desperately wanting to wave , but was in a hired Alto buzzbox at the time……do other marques have a wave ? I remember 30 years ago in the UK driving a MK3 spitfire for a few years and giving and receiving acknowledges from other "spits". The same over here in Oz when i was in my Moke. We wondered as we saw a couple of Maserati today and started to make up "waves" suitable for different makes of car…..any thoughts?

G Wagens wave at each other. I've waved at both of them.

BTW I still wave at Defenders out of nostalgia.

I've tried it with the Isuzu Dmax crowd but am yet to get one back :-( Ours is a Limited Edition model, even other Limited Edition drivers don't wave...

I guess they are just not "drivers" like us!

There's always been a Jeep wave.

As a kid back in the early seventies it was cool to have all Jeep drivers waving to each other, in fact most all 4WD'ers waved when travelling !

I was driving our 66 Amazon wagon a couple of days ago and got a wave from the driver of a "Godess" (a Citroen DS). Lots of people in classic cars give a wave these days.

Gotta be old and not common .... I "borrowed" my mothers Citroen 2cv a few weeks back..... Not only did other drivers wave.... kids on the footpath pointed and waved ......... and laughed, adults on the footpaths ... pointed and laughed and waved. They also gets lots of single finger waves from the freight trains of cars behind you as you crawl up any sort of gradient at waaayyy less than the speed limit

Pretty much anything old and interesting will wave... Could you imagine two old Series drivers passing each other on a road and not waving like lunatics Or VW beetles, or Datsun 120Y's Anything not so common will attract waves of encouragement ( or is it sympathy ) as you drive around.

The wave was a VW Kombi owner thing in the early 70's too.

Whilst driving the Series 1 once, I was stopped at traffic lights next to a Porsche 911 and got into a conversation with the driver who was a fan. I said I'd only consider a swap if he threw in an extra $10,000. He did see the funny side of that.
