The Budget Aldi Wet & Dry Workshop Vac is Back

A heads up that the budget, yet well performing wet and dry workshop vac is again available. Reviews say it is a little loud but does the job admirably well.

I purchased one two or three years ago and can't fault it I often use it with an orbital sander attached and it works really well.

They have a bunch of left over air tools on sale at the moment. Anybody tried them?

The one I bought a year ago does a great job collecting the shavings from my small thicknesser.

It isn't quite as good at catching all the sawdust from the table saw.

It catches all the dust from the orbital sander, but the filter needs cleaning fairly often. Unlike the shavings which fall to the bottom of the drum, the dust is so fine that it is caught by the filter.

if you miss out you can just spend a bit more and get this - 1400watt so a bit more grunt

The Aldi one has a power outlet so that the vac turns on when you switch on the power tool. I find that quite convenient.

It doesn't seem that the Karcher vac has that facility.

I agree with Crawal. At Bunnings, the Ryobi vacs are $80 and the Karcher's are $100. Why would you buy what on paper appears an inferior product for similar money.

Why do you say that the Ryobi is superior to the Aldi vac when the Ryobi is the same power, has 5 litres smaller capacity and doesn't have the convenience of the power outlet for power tools?

The Ryobi at $78 is 20l and 1250W. Not much between them I guess. I was expressing my preference for the Ryobi brand over the Aldi.
