130 TD5 Throttle Issue? Black smoke

i’ve got an intermittent fault with my 130. The best way i can describe it is this.

There seems to be a specific point when depressing the throttle that causes it. When driving along and only applying the minimum throttle without coasting the car starts to lurch with no power and black smoke comes out the exhaust. Giving it a bit more throttle will make it take off with plenty of power and drive normally with no smoke. s

When i’m driving and it’s not happening - the turbo seems to spool up straight away as soon as i push the pedal.

When the problem is occurring though it seems to take a lot more throttle to get the boost going (and get past the dead spot) and then it comes on it more of a rush.

I’ve done alot of searching and reading but can’t find anything referencing the throttle position specifically.

    Any help appreciated.

Hi lj80, have you checked for oil in the harness where it goes into the underseat computer? That has been known to cause a variety of odd behaviours in the TD5 engine. If there is oil present, wipe the socket carefully and wrap the plug in paper towel and let it drain for as long as you can. If this changes anything you have an insight into the issue. If not, it hasn't cost you anything but a small amount of time. Cheers, 130man.

When you say delaminating hose are you referring to the inter cooling piping?

What does a delaminating hose look like?
i replaced the three hoses with silicone ones but i couldnt see any damage on the inside of the hoses. A little bit of oil but no loose bits

Ok hoses are in. Time will tell on the jerking motor issue but it's still smokey under power. Tried running it quickly without the air filter and it was still there so it think it's still ok. Where should I look next?

Do I just try cleaning the connectors or do I need to buy new ones to test it?
