			Wheel Offset help

					Hi All,
After searching all the threads and finding only one that is near what I'm after ,
I'm having trouble finding a wheel for a 2014 defender 130, that has an offset within legal limits close to 20.6, .
We want to fit a set of 265/75r16 to the defender but most wheel offsets are at zero for that rim to fit that tire in a 16x7 which suits the older defenders .which I'm told anything outside of 2.5 inches outside/ inside of original offset is illegal ( true or not?) can anyone recommend any suggestions or shed some light for the new defenders?
 Cheers

Legally for a defender you can go from the 130's current +20mm offset(standard wolf wheel fitted to HD130 is +20mm, alloys are +33mm) to -5mm (that's only 50mm move total), and these should carry a 265/75 fine. I have 255/85 r16 on zero offset using a "legal in uk/EU but not Oz spacer" and they are fine on my 110, where they rubbed before.

So whoever told you it was not legal is talking B.S, get zero for the 265/75(32in) or even 255/85(33.2in tall) and your legal both ways. It's only a 40mm width increase in centreline and either same tyre height with the 265 or 1in up with the 255/85.

If you are in VIC you must comply to the Vicroads specs. For modifications that do NOT require engineering assessment, see this guide:

 http://www.vicroads.vic.gov.au/NR/rd...orvehicles.pdf

You will note that section 13 states you cannot increase track width by more than 25mm. If you do, it is illegal unless assessed by an automotive engineer.

Luck has it that I found a steel rim from dynamic wheels in a 16x 7 that is the same offset 20mm so hopefully that's the go
