    D4 - Tyre load ratings

Good day all, the 19" tyres fitted to our D4s as standard are 255/55/19 111V, and this is what is quoted in the manual. What are the specs in Australia?

Reason for asking is that its almost impossible to find an A/T tyre here that meets the load/speed rating fully - there are a couple of 111Hs around but that's about it.
I had heard that in Oz the standard is 109H? Thanks

    Standard Australia OEM Load/Speed Index

    Hi Cecilh,
This is what my MY14 D4 is coming with (from what I am aware).
As well as an 18" option we have in OZ for the D4 3.0L.

    Standard 19" OEM - Pirelli Scorpion ATR (255/55R19) , Load Index - 111 = 1090kg, Speed Index - H = 210km/h
    Aftermarket 18" (GOE Rims) - Bridgestone D697 (265/60R18 LT), Load Index - 114 = 1180kg, Speed Index - S = 180km/h

    Cheers!

Just thought I'd add the Topix site has JLR Approved tyres in the 255/55 range all with a rated load of 111, but speeds as low as 'S' 180kmh and as high as 'V' 240kmh.

The 111 part matters as that is the load rating - the speed rating not so much for most of us. I understand that for a 4wd in some states it is ok to go down to (I think) P rating (150kmh) if you retain the correct load rating (111). Speed rating V is 240 and H is 210 ... far above legal speeds (for most of us).

So Cecil, 111H is fine and gives you a few choices eg. Pirelli Scorpion ATR, Cooper Zeon and General Grabber in a 19. HTH

All states can go down to N rating for 4wds manufactureed with off-road capabilities -

    Aust Vehicle standards Regualtion #52
