    Tail Lights

I am trying to change the lenses on my defenders taillights but the existing lenses will not release from the mounts. Does anyone know how I can loosen them.

Later Defender lights have the lenses bonded to the base & have a removable globe socket for access. Sounds like you have these.

If you are a tight arse like me, and only bought a lens kit, you can break the existing lens and clean out any little bits with a pick. then you can reseat and seal the new lenses in.

As said from the 300tdi onwards they are all one unit and do not come part like on the earlier ones

I how ever do have a full set of the clear ones for the later Land Rovers which I don't have a use for anymore as I changed mine to LED ones.

I also have a bunch of earlier-type lenses left over from LED replacement. All colours, some in good nick.

Give me a shout if you want any.

    Smile I got the answer

Thanks everyone for that. I assumed that they were the same as Series lights, but obviously not. It seems that even in 1996 Land Rover were trying to push there trucks into the 21st century!
