So what do we all think of it? It will be here early next year apparently.

I was at the Nissan dealer yesterday and asked the sales rep about them- he just saw the photos for the first time that day. He does not think that Australia will see it for atleast 12 months.
It looks alright to me.

I see nothing about the drivetrain.

The YD25 in the D40 was the last Nissan diesel engine and it's as old as the 1KD-FTV (3 litre D4D) in the hilux, both designed aroudn 1998. All other diesel engines in the Nissan range are renault sourced.

Interested to see it. We've got both D22 and D40 in the family fleet. The D22 has been very reliable. Probably worth a rebuild one day. It's at 370,000km now. The D40 is a different story. Pulls like a bull in springtime, but forever at the mechanics. Annoying stuff. The other day twixt Wagga and Henty some sensor on the go pedal lay down and died. long way to go and get it fixed at idle.
