    Winaje's D3 Build

Hi all. Thought I'd start a thread with a few pics and descriptions of some of the accessories and mods I do to my D3 as an ongoing record, in case others find it useful. I often do things a little differently... Will list suppliers and part numbers where possible also.

First off is a simple accessory, but important in principle; a way to hold my phone and avoid the $433 and 3 demerit points (in Vic).

    Brodit/ClicOn D3 specific accessory mount Centre Mount - 05-09 - Discovery 3 - Land Rover - Dashboard Mounts - Device Mounts | HoldMyPhone
Brodit/ClicOn iPhone 5/5S charge holder Adjustable Active Holder- Multiple Skins - iPhone 5/5C/5S with skins - Apple - Phone Holders & Cradles - Device Holders | HoldMyPhone

And this is what it looks like when fitted, cabling runs inside the fascia, currently to a cig lighter 2.1A twin USB power plug. Will hard wire later. I drilled a hole in the fascia behind the clip to run the charge cable through. Replacement fascias are available on ebay for around $60 if ever I need to change it.
    Regards, Will

Looks good will, how long of a job was it?

Just a friendly tip, use the direct link at the bottom of the photo, then the image tag to post it, gets the photo up and not the thumbnail.

    Cheers Baz.

Thanks Baz. Took about 15 minutes all up including removal, drill, fit, install and wire.

I deliberately used a thumbnail so that the pic was not in-you-face, but could be clicked on if the reader found it interesting. This thread is more of a record, as I didn't expect that it would be all that interesting in comparison to the more radical/serious/expensive build threads around
    Regards, Will

I have a cunning plan for mounting my Uniden UH8080, if it works (I'll test it tomorrow) I'll post another pic...

Mine fits here...when I'm using it - otherwise it "lives" under the floor in the cargo area till I need it.

Mounted the ARB CKMA12 compressor in front of the main battery using 4 x 6mm rivnuts, which use a 10mm hole. Drilled in 3 stages, not a lot of room to get the rivnut tool in, but neat and firm.

Final mounting spot, ready to be wired.

    Regards, Will
