    Fitting Sliders to D4

    Hi All,

This weekends project is fitting my new set of sliders from Brad to my D4.

I've removed the old aluminium side steps and sill trims and have a question for those those have done this before:

I was going to leave those grommets in place.... but thought i probably should remove the little yellow lugs..??

If so do they simply pull out... and should I plug the holes before bolting the slider in place?

Any help so I get it right first time would be great....

Mark, leave the grommets and pull out the yellow plugs which are the holes that you will use to bolt Brad's sliders to the body.
It is a straight forward job but you will need some help to lift them up.
If you have front mud flaps you will have to remove them and fit some generic ones from supercheap. You will also have to fashion something to cover the gap at the rear where the flares meet.
    Have fun.

Rain has meant I have been slack and not done the mudflaps yet...but dashed out to grab a few pics...

I used the cut off end of the existing sill protection to finish off the back end. ( Mine already had been butchered by the guys that put the ally steps on it originally)

Cutting down the front trim was easy...

The front currently looks like this:

But the front mudguards will tidy that up nicely.

I really do need to get those Mudflaps sorted

    Looks good Mark.

They can get a little slippery in the wet. I have kids using them all the time to climb in, so I have stuck some strips of grip tape from the ship chandler on mine and they work well.

You may not need them, but might be worth a thought.

    Thanks Pat,

I've got a roll of the tape and the rubber for the mud flaps sitting here....

They will go on as soon as I can get sorted and stay dry

    Cheers,
