It has been discussed quite recently. I tend to use the thanks button as a thank-you, acknowledgement or agreement.
Now, I can't remember if I've brought this up before or not, but it occurred to me that there are many a time when I 'thank' someone on their post when actually I'd like to 'like' it.. A thanks does not always suit when someone describes something that's happened to them or something that has me rolling around on the floor with laughter... I don't know how hard it would be to have a 'like' button beside the 'thanks' button, but I'd use it....![]()

If you don't like trucks, stop buying stuff.
On the Pentax forum, they have a Like button - I asked for a Thanks button but the site owner said they are the same. The difference there is that one can add a message when one presses the Like button.

I know exactly what you mean.
Sometimes I read a post and think to myself "the thanks button just doesn't seem to sum up my thoughts on that post". From time to time I'd like the option of a "**** off" button. That couldn't be too hard off some boffin to add could it?
Now don't you all thank me at once if it gets added
Alternatively one could just write a response describing ones feelings on the post / subject matter rather than selecting from a series of buttons designed to provide a summarisation of ones emotional response.
