    d3 systems faults

Hi as some may no I've got a 2007 se petrol disco 3 the car had been faultless until it's last week when it did its first aircompressor.
The car went in for a service plus had the compressor and crank angle sensor replaced 3 days in total. All was running beautifully or so I thought until we got back to the caravan park were the car threw up all Manner of faults (crank sensor fault, transmission fault) so we have taken it back to the mechanic were he has spent the last two days trying to fix/ clear the faults to get the car In a running condition and off the bump stopsthe first issue was thought to be the starter motor which was replaced only to still have the problems when fitted. This has got the mechanic baffled as what the problem is as soon as he clears the faults there back by the time the key is turned. Has anyone out there experienced similar problems?

(The car is at a independent landrover specialist)

Not that it helps, but having the fault hard on should make it relatively easy to find.

What faults occur directly after existing faults are cleared?

The cars coming up with crank sensor then goes directly to a transmission 3rd gear bump stops. The mechanics think that it may be a loose connection somewhere in the car the car is 100% mechanically fine. So it's somewhere in the computer system. They were pulling apart connections cleaning them then trying again to no success. The worst part is we are in the middle of travelling around Australia and have now had to cancel lots of accommodation and we have been told that maybe it will be fixed Monday As they don't work on the weekend.

Battery is a few months old I think they have played around with the earth. How does the wheel alignment come into play?

It sounds as though there's an intermittant low voltage problem which shouldn't be too hard to find as long as it stays hard-on. Consider the possibility of a broken internal connection in the battery if the battery voltage drops as soon as the starter is engaged - try a different battery.

I had a wheel alignment done once on my 2007 D3 V6. 15 minutes into a camping trip the dash lit up like a xmas tree, the car squatted down and I had no clue what was what. Turned out the mechanic had left something loose, the carputer sensed it and went into panic mode.
