Thumbs up A Break In Port Fairy.

Wifey & I drove down to Port Fairy in Gracie (our 90) for a few days last week, & drove down via the Great Ocean Road,...great weather(well for the first day,..went backwards after that!) & great views, but We didn't see another Defender.
Ate in a few different venues whilst we were there,...we always visit the Stump (Caledonian Hotel)...a 350 gram eye fillet with a nice red in front of an open fire,...VERY hard to beat!
However, walking around Port Fairy, we did see another Defender, driving towards us, so we flagged him down,...an immaculate White TD5 Defender 110 Extreme, an older driver had it sinse new, 12 yrs old, 77000ks,...immaculate.
Then, on the way back, along Geelong Rd, we passed a black 90, waved, & received a wave back, & blow me down if we didn't see another two parked in Beach Rd.
Gracie behaved very well, cruises very easily indeed at 100KPH, or 110KPH when allowed.

Glad you enjoyed Port Fairy . Great place. Just down the road. 39 kms to be exact.

Stump's a great place. But I haven't been there for awhile. Do they still have the " Stump Rump " , 1 kg of rump. Done it twice , with a lot of encouragement.

Yes, I know where you are.
I didn't actually notice this time, but I've seen it in the past.
They do put on a great meal, like I said I love eye fillet, & at the Stump it's BIG,...350gm,..which is pretty good for a solid piece of eye fillet,...usually 250gm is as big as you'll get.

Been to Portland, but not this time.
A great place for sure, stayed at Macs Hotel, right on the main corner overlooking the harbour...1st floor room, over looking the water,..beautiful.
Lots of history, loved riding on the tram, and the car museum was great too.

Again, not this time, but We've been to the lighthouse & also seen the "WW11 radar bunker".
What most impressed us in this area was the "Otway Fly",....I'm not into trees & that sort of stuff, but geez, what they've done here is brilliant,....anyone would be impressed.
