    Ford Gets it Right !!!

It seems that the aussie car makers might have finally come up with some decent designs .................. just before they shut up shop and we are left with lesser quality American crap.

I've always hated the high corner tail lights on the dunnydoor sedans - but the latest model has finally addressed this and come up with something that looks way more decent (although you could be forgiven for mistaking it for the rear end of a Mazda 6).

And Ford Australia's designs for the Falcon haven't done anything for me for many years.

Just saw the pics below of the upcoming Fords ...........

The first one is the new XR8 - supposedly a true likeness.

And below is what the next GT is supposed to look like. Not pics released from Ford, but hopefully close to the real thing. Best looking Ford since the XW/XY GT's if you ask me.

    Cheers .........

I hope the rear end treatment looks better in the metal.

Look very similar to the Ford Fusion the Yanks already have. I believe we are headed that way as far a 4 door family sedans go.

Yes - they say that the Falcon is using some of their "global" styling cues, and the front end looks like almost an identical copy of the Fusion.

Fortunately they don't appear to be copying the rear end styling of the Fusion - looks like a Mondeo or any of a number of other el-cheapo buzz boxes on the road.
    Cheers .........

I suspect the Falcon suffered from having to use parts of the abominable AU Falcon design. Later variations were much better looking, even the BA.

Having said that, I think the BF (well, in XR6 form ) is better looking than the FG.

Still sticking to big sedans with either a 6 or 8 in them. Haven't they learnt that that the market no longer wants this?
