Go, Sally, Go! you good thing

Heralded as one of the best, if not the best, hurdler of all time. And that is by her peers, not the media. The best ever, from Australia, that is for sure. Sally Pearson put the troubles of the last week behind her . Michelle " the wriggling" Jennnecke, and Golden haired Shannon McCann, both qualified for the final as well.

    6.50am - SALLY PEARSON DOMINATES 100M HURDLES
Yikes. Sally Pearson has returned to form in a big way, roaring through her heat in the 100m hurdles and winning by a huge margin, almost breaking the Commonwealth Games record in the process. She finished with a time of 12.69 seconds.
“It’s so good. Oh I’ve been so stressed and worried about it, so nervous,” Pearson said.
“Every single week has been a hard slog getting back to here,” she said, referring to an injury she suffered eight weeks ago.
Pearson briefly addressed her spat with controversial coach Eric Hollingsworth, saying it had been a huge distraction. She also justified her decision to compete in London before the Games, instead of attending a team camp.
“It’s been a huge distraction for me in the past week,” she said. “I’m in a really good headspace now, I want to keep going.
“You saw how I ran tonight, and that showed how important preparation is for an athlete.”
In the following heat, fellow Aussie Shannon McCann came second to book a place in tomorrow morning’s final alongside Pearson and Jenneke.

    Good on all of them.

I truely hope that Pearson adopts a "its done and all over"
attitude towards Eric HOLLINGSWORTH and doesnt want to
talk about it, it would cheapen her in my eyes if she gets involved
    after all this.

I hope all three of them go well, they've earned the chance now grab it!

I must say I became a big fan when I watched this interview with her
she was stunned, and overjoyed and down to earth, great stuff.

    Great to see,
My Mum almost made the Melbourne Olympics as a hurdler, i could never get away as a kid, she always caught me, i wonder why

She was mates with Betty Cuthbert, is the only Olympian, male or female, to have won a gold medal in all sprint (running) events: 100 metres; 200 metres; and the 400 metres. She subsequently verified her retirement for good after Tokyo.

Is this still the case ?
By all means get a Defender. If you get a good one, you'll be happy. If you get a bad one, you'll become a philosopher.

    Watched her heat earlier.

I'm sure that performance will shut up her critics and I can't wait to see the final

I've really enjoyed watching the games especially the swimming and the netball, Australia versus Jamaica should be an interesting match.

I've been watching the games, & was happy with channel 10's commentary, until the after race interview with Sally, after her heat. The interviewer , instead of concentrating on the race, kept trying to push the interview to the conflict between Sally & the fellow sent home, & when Sally didn't respond to that, he approached the subject directly. A low act. Bob

As usual the low low life journalists just can't help themselves.

That sort of bling I could live with because it could be removed.
But the self inflicted deformaties ( tatoos ) I think are ghastly and ugly.
    Shudder.

    Congrats Sally, well done.
