Pretty sure the sat nav is factory fit only Andrew. Not believed to be the most outstanding navigation feature that has ever been designed either.
Is Sat Nav available as a dealer fit option on the D4????
If so how much to they want.
Will be asking my salesman monday, would like to know the cost to ensure they arent having a lend seeing the deal is closed.
Thanks
Andrew

Hi Andrew,
I think it would be a factory fit only, quite often it's packaged up as a " Tech Pack " with a reversing camera, sensors and maybe a sound system upgrade. The price varies depending on current deals and specials on offer.
At my elevated age, I wouldn't consider a new car without the goodies!
I find jumping in a car without a good reversing camera and sensors quite disturbing!
Jack
PS: in answer to the price, the tech pack option on my first D4 was about
$3500-00 to $4000-00 at the time, but like everything it can be discussed...

Yes and if the D4 version ages like the D3 version and it's lack of updates, it will be next to useless after about 5-6 years. iPhone in a cradle with google maps with turn by turn voice guidance via the sound system using a parrot BT interface.
The only thing my screen is good for is 4x4 info and displaying camera outputs when I get motivated to fit a gvif.
Money better spent on vodka id say. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1407046438.526006.jpg
Mine came as standard with the HSE which has the bigger video screen and HK 11 speaker audio. There was a recent update mentioned in a thread here but recent is debatable. I rang the dealer to see if my Nov 13 D4 had it and they said it would. There's no way to check which update is installed apparently and I wasn't going to spend the $199.00 when I didn't know if it would do anything. As far as use goes, I personally find it ok generally with a few idiosyncracies but agree that a windscreen attached one from Tomtom etc has more features and is a better option if you don't have it as a standard item. It is handy having it in the dash but I would not have been too upset if I had had to buy an aftermarket attachment.
Here's a link to the update page (provided by someone on the other thread - apologies but I can't remember who) in case anyone wants to check it out.

Andrew - I run a Hema HN6 in mine (believe they've now released a new model - HN7??).
Very happy with it, both in town and out in the bush.
I've also got a TomTom which is good in the City, but not much use some of the places I go. SWMBO usually uses that in hire cars etc when she comes down to Perth.
I tried one of those VMS units they were flogging in 4WD Action (got it cheap at the 4WD Show a couple of years back). I liked the larger screen on the VMS but unfortunately it was pretty useless in the city. I would usually arrive at destination, sometimes after finding it on Google maps on the phone, before the bloody thing even found a satellite signal. Works well in the country though - Shaun now has it in the D2.
The only thing that the Hema does not have that you get with the TomTom is the "fixed speed camera" register and warnings - but that doesn't bother me because I don't speed .............
For going offroad though - I've seen nothing that beats the Hema.
I deliberately opted NOT to have the factory system in the Disco after I was told how much it costs to have the maps updated (you can only have it done at a Land Rover dealer I'm told).
Cheers .........
