    Copper Slip Compound

The hernia wont take too much more straining at the spanner , so I've made a New Years resolution (either late or early) to put everything back with a bit of Copper Slip Compound on the threads. I cant find it anywhere - does it go by a brand name?

    cheers,

Are you twisting it the right way?

Loctite Nickel Anti-seize is the duck's nuts. It is compatible with aluminium, and copper is not. Loctite anti-seize has the same torque characteristics as lightly oiled threads.

What prompted it oddly was ,I had trouble with an old temperature sensor - the brother in law (used to eat tyres for breakfast / rims for lunch ) also had trouble to the point of saying "its not meant to come out" - so I didn't feel so bad with my meagre effort.

    thanks for all the advice,

    cheers,
