LP gas 1 Lilydale. I believe they speciialize in Land rover fittiing.
Mine has a very neat Scuba tank dual system. Scubas tucked up high underneath where the petrol tank was. Nothing to hang down and get banged and knocked.

Are you happy with your LPG conversion? I'm about to go down the same path but can't get much reliable info on impact on performance, potential economy or savings.

I'd value any pointers on the most suitable LPG kit...vendors are pointing towards IMPCO, ELKO and LANDI HARTOG (European). What hardware have you got?

    Siverhammer,
I bought the Disco second hand with the LPG system fitted.

I get around 20 litre per 100 kms on gas.
Powerdrop is not really that noticable.Unlike some sytems like on Patrols where the tank hangs below in front of the rear diff.
The 2 scuba tanks neatly fit underneath the rear. ( there is then a flat mesh bash plate covering the tanks)

I have nothing hanging below and cabin space is as per original.
There is a 45 litre petrol tank tucked up in the righthand side quarter panel.
The filler cap is on top of the bumper on the drivers side next to the spare tyre. So I don't have to bend down all the time to fill.

The Led fuel guage is a strip led light arrangement that is neatly inbedded in the bottom lip of the guage instrument surround. This is a neat and looks almost as if it was part of the car.

I get a cruising range of about 380 km per tank.
It appears to start on Petrol and then instantly the gas takes over.
I have a holden airfilter box with some neat plumbing. And Holden air fillters are cheaper too!
Only draw back is 380 kms is not a huge range when going bush, so refilling is a bit of a pain.

The pics are great, thanks for your detailed response. 20L/100km is at the better end of gas economy I've heard of, thats quite OK.

I hope to fit a 120L gas cylinder and retain 85L petrol, hopefully getting 1000km range.

Disco V8s are just too good, eh...lurv the burble. With LPG I can give the big rev without getting a loan!!!

Thanks again, Rovernaut, the willingness of AULRO members is so Aussie!
If you're heading Tassie way, please give me a yell for any assistance.

    cheers

You could also talk to Smithy in Bayswater, on 9762 2333, talk to Terry, they also seem to know thier Land Rovers.

Forgot to mention, system hasn't had any real dramas.
But Fuse blew once, fitter hid it in the driverside kick panel where fuel pump relays are. Hard to find if you didn't know where to look. ( Blew as I was tinkering)
I cleaned and rekitted the converter, "full of heavy ends ", treacle like by product that clogs things, need to periodically drain these.
Blew my MAF due to backfire through the aircleaner box a couple of times due to poor tune only.
Had starting problem on gas, this disappeared by itself when I redid my heads due to oil leak. No one could find the fault. It seemed to go away when I refiited heads??????

And Finally the fuel/switching control module under the dash went and it was a cheap replacement. Fixed and replaced by myself.
