help on id of parts and locations on car :D

    Hi all,

i have a couple parts that are proving a bit hard for me to work out where/how they fit to the landy.

first is the high beam dip switch located on the floor, if some has time are they able to get a pic of how theres looks on the floor and post up the photo?

second is i have these two parts sitting on the bench (in photo) looking at me and i can't seem to remember where they belong, if any one knows what they are and where they belong please enlighten me

cheers in advance for you help everyone

If nobody chimes in beforehand, I'll take photos and see if I can find those bits when I get home - all panels are off ours at the moment, so they should be easy to spot.

    Hi Josh,

I have seen the hi-beam switch on the floor (near the clutch pedal). I have also seen it mounted under the dash - imagine raising your left knee to touch the under side of the dash..

As for the parts - they are located on the inside of the tail gate. You attach the tailgate chains to it.

    Cheers,

another curve ball for all you landy mech heads

in the photo of the vent mechanism does any one know how the small washer and the half washer attaches to the shaft and in which order?

there seems to be a notch on the shaft but not sure which side the half washer goes on.

cheers again for all your help

The washer goes between the 'C' clip and the frame of the control, i.e. towards the knob.

There are two types of switch, that one and a stubbier looking one that I think was earlier, although they are interchangeable. Also, military 2a Landrovers (perhaps others?) had the wires extended and covered with a metal channel to put the switch between the clutch and the brake.
