    D4 Meridian Video Out

Does anyone know if the Meridian system in an MY14 D4 SE has a video out available?

I'm new to LR and would like to get some screens installed in the headrests to play video from a HDD in the glovebox. I don't want the hassle of headrest DVD players as the idea of carting around load of DVD's fills me with dread.

Unless it's behind the head unit, I'm thinking no. It's does have aux & USB in the glovebox but I'm sure they're inputs. Mine does not have any line outputs on the front panel.

    However I could be wrong....

I wasn't expecting video outputs on the front anywhere. What I was hoping for is someone with access to a workshop to let me know if there are unused outputs on the rear of the head unit.

My wife has a Subaru Forester. With a little research people have found there is an unmarked video out on some unused pins on the Sat Nav head units. I was wondering of there was something like this in the Disco 4 given the head unit can play video from DVD and from the USB.

    See attached files from TOPIx.

Re the pic of the rear of the touch screen, I know that connector C2820 is the reversing camera input. Connectors C2821, C2822 & C2823 may have what you are after.

Also attached is the wiring diagram if you can make sense of it.

    Have fun!

Thanks, I had no idea you could get that stuff from Topix

edit: It looks like C2823 is the video out to the rear seat entertainment... I wonder if that needs to be switched on or if it's always running...

I would say you would have to enable it in the CCF (Car Configuration File) via Nanocom or Faultmate et al.

I am about to embark on a similar project to retrofit a reversing camera into my MY14 D4.

I have the rear seat entertainment and we need to select the individual screens before they will play. If we stop the car and the DVD has been playing on the rear screens and front, it will start again on the front screens but not the rear till you select them and turn it back on again.

My idea may already be dead in the water because so far I've been unable to get video (of any format) to play via the USB port on the front screen. Does anyone even know if it's possible?

    Have you tried a DVD?

Have you had a look under the "Hidden Menu" (search that one if you're unfamiliar with it) to see what's available / active / shutdown etc?

How do I access this "hidden menu"?

I haven't seen any of this info you have there but then again I don't have the RSE either.
