    New Side Steps Defender

    Hi Guys,

The mother in law has said she will pay for some new side steps for us, she struggles to get in and out when the mrs takes her shopping.

We live in Brisbane anyone know a place that fits them. Whats are some good ones to get the last ones rusted off.

should i be importing them and then getting someone over here to fit,

    thanks in advance

    cheers

Hmmmmm ...................... if my mother in law was complaining of finding it difficult to climb into my 4WD - I'd be installing a lift kit, not side steps.
    Cheers .........

Whichever ones you go for, make sure they are low enough to be useful for your mother in law.

My rail / step setup that replaces the sill does not help my folks get in, but to be honest I bought them as sliders not steps. Just don't tell my folks...

Any steps that would be useful will reduce your 4WD capability in ramp over.

Yes. Good point. How much lower is the bottom of the chassis than the aluminium trim panels below the doors.

if your not taking your car off road....

I would forget the side steps and get some spring loaded steps installed like is...

I threatened to get my folks a small box to use as a step, and tie a string on to it so they could pull it up in to the truck after they got in.

Funny thing is, after I suggested that they never asked about a step again...
