    Rego Costs

    Just re rego'd the 88 bmw k100,$460 for 6 months.how does this compare with the rest of australia.
    
    rego $33
    tio[3rd party] $711
    gst on tio $71
    admin $7

    that's rich , NSW $118 rego and $283.50 greenslip ( compulsory third party insurance ) and $22.20 pink slip ( that's the roadworthy inspection done every year )
    And that s for 12 months on a litre sized bike.

    must mean that we fall off twice as much up here.pretty discouraged at the moment because of the cost,even contemplated a scooter for a moment.

    Smaller bikes are quite cheap to register in Vic, but bigger ones get expensive. My old 250 was around $390 for the year, but my CBR1000F runs to just over $700. My wife's C50 (800cc) Boulevard Cruiser is $630.

    I Guess they assume you are going to hurt yourself every time you get on it...

    what i don't like is a lot of late 250cc bikes will out do the old 88 bmw.Really did contemplate a 600cc scooter,but the rego is nearly the same,

    I have the same Bike and in W.A its about $200ish a year, i moved across from VIC where it cost me close to $700 a year and was considering club plates until i moved to W.A.

    Its cheaper here i beleive because you pay for the weight of the vehicle, example my Disco is more $$ then the wifes Mazda and bike is cheaper again.
