    First oil change D4???

    Hi Guys.
Im not really happy with 12 months/24000km for a first oil change.
On average at 12 months my D4 will have around 10000km on it.
Im considering sending it in for an early oil/filter/diesel filter change.Mainly because its new, dont mind the service interval after an initial early drop.
Any idea what dealers charge for a basic service like this???
What KM would people suggest???? 5000km??? on 3000km at the moment.

    Hi Andrew.

I had the 6 month service done as we do lots of small trips and I thought it would be a good idea to change the oil as well. My bill was $563.56. Can't put my hand to the invoice at the moment and hence can't confirm what else was done - sorry.

First change at 5000 made me happy, no science to it.

I am looking to do the same Andy, early interim service for which I have been quoted $460 inc oil and filter. Extra $140 for wheel alignment, rotation and balance. Some other dealers quoted more and advised the interim service did not include an oil change so oil and filter was on top......not sure what the KMs will be when I get it done but looking early new year so probably 6000ish. I too am not keen on a full year on original oil.

Whilst I wanted the engine oil changed early but couldn't due to no oil in Oz at the time, I was more concerned to have diff oils changed early because of the gears used and the absence of filters. I didn't get the TC oil changed at the early service but had it changed at about half its scheduled change interval.

Edit: Actually non-DPF engine oil was available but LR only recommended DPF oil even though no DPF. I've since changed to non-DPF oil.

Andrew - Barbagallo's recommends a 6 month "health check" where they go over everything and top up fluids etc.

I got them to change oils and filters etc when they did this, given what I use the vehicle for and the regular trips up to Kal. Think it cost me somewhere around the same as what Martin said. I can go back through the files if you want the details on what was done.
    Cheers .........

Mine had a service sticker saying 3000kms when i first got it but i went to a different dealer as i was on holidays they did it and then said theres no service in the system for 3000kms so i dunno why it needed it but ahwell it got done.

What are the rest of the services done at i thought 26000kms if i remember correctly, took it for a service the other day and they have made the sticker in the window 14000kms after it got a service??
