Mt Mee Day Trip - 1 November 2014

Thanks to all who attended yesterdays day trip to mt mee and a special thanks to those who had a long drive, we had a really great day!

We started out in the little town of Dayboro where we met near the not so quiet swimming pool car park..an hour later with some taking the scenic detour via D'agulair..we were on our way.

We entered the National Park via Laceys Creek Road for a picturesque drive through the Jacaranda trees. As we got closer the dryer it got and we were in for a bit of a dusty day, with all the usual flowing creeks very dry.

Once into Mt Mee, we made our way along the dusty windy tracks and stopped at the Gantry for lunch.

A lovely spot with plenty of shade and lots of birds....with one particular kookaburra helping himself to Lachies lunch..literally taking it out of his hands as he ate!

The afternoon saw some more tracks before exiting near Neurum Creek Bush Retreat to head home.

Some pics of the day can be found here...

We can post them to the club facebook page as well.

Thanks and have a great Sunday

It was good to catch up with all the lovely people which makes our club so great. The drive was a leisurely one meandering through the range. The only technical aspect being a creek crossing, where no recoveries were needed. Yes it was a bit dusty but we were on dirt roads . thanks to our trip leader for organising the day and all the members who attended, well done.

A really nice day out with the club! Thanks James and Lauren for organising it and running the day.

Mt Mee was where I did most of my offroading when I first bought my landy but I haven't been back for years. It was great to go back through some familiar parts... and get reaquainted with the dust.

We didn't get any photos because I was too lazy! Jenny tried taking a few from the car but nothing really came out except for the dust.

Hopefully we can run this trip next year (not so subtle hint )!

Yes again, thanks for a good trip, dusty, but we take whatever comes and we enjoyed the day.
I vote we do this again.
