D4 LEDs as daytime running lights via iidtool or other.

I'd like to configure the headlight LEDs to be DRLs. I have a iidtool which can configure the actual headlights as DRLs, but they don't look nearly as cool as the LEDs.

Is there a way to configure just the LEDs as DRLs in either software or physical connection?

I do remember a post about this ages ago, I'm pretty sure it said something about changing the car country to a European country, something like Sweden i can't fully remember it. Maybe try searching for it.

The other market specs still only use the headlight low beam as DRLs in my 2010 D4. However my signature LEDs aren't anywhere near bright enough to use as DRLs.

I attached some cheap LED drls to the bottom of the headlight assemblies to shine through the gap between the bull bar and the headlights but even those aren't nearly as visible as the headlights so were disconnected. I couldn't see the drls from 200 metres away on an overcast day so are useless. I'm still on the lookout for bright ones like those fitted as oem to Audis etc.

The signature lights on our MY14 are as bright as the Audi or Grand Cherokee's, they must have changed them in this model, although as ours also has the xenon upgrade, that may also make a difference as well, but don't quote me on that..lol

I think the daytime LED running lights are part of the xenon upgrade.Yes they are bright,and look great

I think that brighter LEDs must have been fitted to later models because in early D4s the LEDs were only available in the bi-xenons and they are quite dim.

They seem to have a low/high output that changes.
On Jeeps thiers turn off on the side with the indicator running,pretty sure ours go to low output.When you unlock they flash low and high too.

LR weren't on the ball enough when the first D4's lights were designed, in more ways than 1 it seems.

The signature lights were never meant to be DRL's. There is a separate kit you can use VPLAV0066 it's expensive though.

The signature LEDs weren't even fitted to the halogen headlights!

The ones I fitted are only 3W each bank of 6. I see there are some at 1W each LED in banks of 6 or 8 that are still very cheap so mght try a set. I'd like banks of 4 x 3W LEDs but haven't found any yet, let alone at a cheap price.
