Cant Lower Spare

Hi guys I can find heaps of do and donts for the d4 spare wheel winch . but I cant find what to do when it wont come down. mine is all the way up with a flat tyre after I changed the flat, followed the plan on here but when I put it up it didn't notch or make an audible sound like the book said so I didn't force it. got under it and tried to pull it down and it didn't come. left it.but now I need to get it down?? I think there will be a thread already if someone can link me to it and suggest a way to search better I tried google and the aulro search. thanks

Seems there is a real problem with the spare winches, I used mine the first time a fortnight ago and had to have it fixed/replaced under warranty last Monday.

Can't help with your problem though, mine was down and wouldn't go up.

Got it down,used a headlamp , wife and a hammer, just undid bolts and wiggled will go down now but not up. Not jammed just spins and tries to drive, I've stripped and dried and greased the whole thing but no joy I hit it with a hammer on the shaft drive and now it works !! I'll weld it up Tomorrow and retest
