    Wiring wireless remote control

    G'day all, I have got me one of these wireless remote controllers for my 2 winches;
    12V 50ft Winch Wireless Remote Control SET FOR Truck Jeep ATV Warn Ramsey | eBay

    My plan is to have it useable for either the front or rear winch, wired through a 4-pin connector so the receiver unit can be connected to the desired winch.

    I've wired it up to the rear winch no problemo, as it has one of the one-piece solenoid things, requiring just 1 powered wire for either direction of operation. However, the front winch has the older style 4 solenoids. This is a problem as the wireless unit has only one powered wire for in and one for out, whereas the winch needs 2 terminals to be powered- one of which is common for in and out, i.e. green and brown for 'in', yellow and brown for 'out'.
    I'm pretty sure I can devise a circuit using 4 small relays to accomplish the task, but wondering if anyone has a simpler solution before I do this.

    Just replace the relays with a single unit - it will be better anyway as it will be a sealed unit.

    Would be nice, but as the relay units run around $180 would be a not very cost-effective way of using a $12 remote control!

    I had the same problem and ended up buying another winch controller (I just had a quick look but cannot find any advertised, I will have another look when I get home!) It just plugs in where the manual controller goes, works well. Cannot remember the exact price, maybe $70? Not hugely expensive.

    If you search for the way older 3 wire controllers were wired for the 4 solenoids were wired, you can easily change yours back to that method.

    The change from 3 wire controller to the later controller was for safer operation, but no reason why changing back won't work.

    The single solinoid s go for $59 on ebay, i couldnt get my warn corded remote to work with the single solinoid so went for the $12 cordless, so so much better not being tied to the car
