Yes, you're not reading it wrong, it looks like Christmas has happened in my EAS pump.
I bought a set of replacement Teflon rings to replace in my EAS pump off of eBay. The first one was a real struggle to get on, so when the pump stopped pumping after a week I wasn't too surprised, when I pulled the pump, to find the ring had disintegrated and "snowed" Teflon in the pump.
I replaced the ring again and this time it went on easily. Once again, after a couple of weeks, the ring has disintegrated.
Has this happened to anyone else? I highly suspect being sold dodgy Teflon rings. If this is the case, then does anyone know where to get good quality Teflon rings?

I'll take a good look at it when I next strip it down. Must admit that I didn't look very closely last time.
How cheap is that replacement? I'm shocked that there's a replacement part for the P38 for under $20! Thanks Steve
I've just rebuilt a compressor with that kit. I have yet to install it. I might do that tonight.
The piston needs working and shaping to get it into the new cylinder. There's a YouTube video showing how to do that.
The small O-ring for the reed valve in the head was too thick and I couldn't fit it into the groove. The air filter pad is bigger in diameter than the one removed but I just stuffed it in.

I've always worked on 8 minutes from empty to 145psi for the OEM pump with no leaks.
Well, stripped it down and the bore was scored. I'm certain it wasn't like that before as it was so noticeable, must have had a rough spot that I didn't notice.
Rubbed it down lightly, pu5 a new rinh in and also ordered the replacement.
Let's see if it lasts. ..

Seems about right Ron, with the door open or already at height. A couple of minutes either side of around 8 mins is no biggie in my view.
Poleonpom - if you get no joy with the new piston seal, pm me as I still have a few of the old Hard Range seals in the shed.

Thanks for putting times up Ron. I'll run my tank empty on Thursday and time my twin compressors to see how long they take to fill 'er up.
Will do 30sec intervals and you can graph side-by-side if you like?
