How do I get that V8 burble sound?

Hi everyone - my 02 Vogue 4.6 is running great with the replacement transmission...averaging 14-16L/100km.

The damn thing is so smooth and quiet, which is great...but I really want to hear that V8 burble. Mine has the single exhaust on both sides...what are the ones with the twin exhaust pipes on both sides?

Any sensible suggestions for an exhaust upgrade? On my Puma 90 I replaced the rear muffler with a TF straight through pipe and got a much better sound, and wee felt lift in performance.

Is the burble related to firing order?

    The Rover V8 firing order is: 1 8 4 3 6 5 7 2
    The Ford V8 (except 351) is: 1 5 4 2 6 3 7 8
    Ford 351, 5.0, 5.4, 5.8 litre : 1 3 7 2 6 5 4 8
Dodge and Chevy V8 are, apparently, the same as a Rover.

Get one of those sound generators that some new vehicles have, then you can have any sound you like

Mine burbles and growls beautifully. Get yourself a sportier exhaust. Too much muffling going on.

TTBOMK, all clevelands (302 & 351) and 351 windsors have the same firing order. Somewhere in the mid 80s the 302 windsor changed to this firing order as well. So the ring-in is the early 302 windsor motor.

Now I'm confused: RAVE has mine (4.6) as 1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2

The 5L Holden V8 in my 1993 VP Commodore had a magnificent rumble esp. idling up a steep driveway The later VX LS1 had a different firing order which had nowhere near the appeal of the 5L.
