small world it has to be said...

Just had a guy walk in and want a job done on a system

thinking to myself, seen this face before...

so i ask him where we have met before and he says yeah, your face is familiar...

25 years ago this week we were working together for one day in gladstone

he was master on a vessel that was helping launch one that i had just helped build..

    blew me away...

    Funny how that happens.

I was sitting a job interview (didn't get it thank goodness), and similar thing, couldn't shake the feeling I had seen the guy before. Ended up that I had sold his wife a camera 10 years previously and he had been with her...

    Yep,
Had a lady come into work a couple of months ago & said hello to me & used my name.
I looked at her but no recognition.
She even told me her name but still nothing.
Finally she told me that we had dated a couple of times in around 1978 or 9.
Obviously she found the dates more memorable than I did.

PS I did remember her eventually.

Forty years ago I was in the restaurant at the Hook of Holland, waiting for the ferry across the English Channel to Harwich - and met the proprietor of the motel I had lived in three years earlier in Port Moresby.

Ask BMKal about a small world...

He was in China, waiting for a flight and browsing some photos I had posted of my work site.

Guy next to him looks over and says "Hey, thats my plant"...

My wife's boss is married to the sister of my good mate's wife.

Only took us 3 years to work it out...

Last year at the Louth races, a young guy from Bathurst introduced himself, and came over to discuss Landies - we were at the end of our Simpson Centreing trip .
A few weeks later my son (who had met up with us in Louth) was out and about with his sister, it turns out that the young guy was the mate of my daughters partner.

A few years ago, I met a fellow in Bamaga, he lived 200 metres from me in Bald Hills, Brisbane. I'd never met him before.

I was sitting in a pub in Lighting Ridge and the guy next to me had a KIWI accent so I asked him where he was from. He said Pukekohe. I said my wife comes from there. He asked her name and when I told him he said I know her I used to drive trucks for her father.

I needed the house sprayed for bugs. Not having had to have this done before (I'm from the UK) we just picked a yellow pages ad based on nothing in particular

The guy turns up, we chat whilst he works, turns out he was same school as me back in Blighty, 2 years above
