I don't think the sway bars play any role other than what they've always done in limiting body sway/ roll in corners.
I would certainly imagine the DSC to be a refined version of the traction control system. The reaction time needs to be significantly quicker than that of the "ordinary" TC, but its unlikely to be a complete stand alone system.
Anyone seen a skid pan test video of a Defender with the new DSC system yet?

I think I can feel the DSC kicking in over larger speed bumps, but cant see any lights on the dash like you do with TC.
