    Definition of a "Puma" Defender

Well as some of you may or may not know I inherited a 2010 130
Puma. Now this is on the Island of Tanna in Vanuatu. Yes I know, what is a bloody Puma doing here. Well after rebuilding the engine, rebuilding the suspension and various other things it runs and I must say it runs quite well. But after basically going over this thing with a fine tooth comb I have worked out the best definition for this LR.

Its what you get when you put iphone technology in a Morris Marina.
The tech is great until is stops. Then you need a Hawkeye of similar and a second mortgage to repair it. Then there is the Morris Marina build quality and tolerances, Say no more. Lets just say I am so glad I didn't pay the 50K that someone else did. Honestly in this day and age its just a joke that LR built this!!!

What happened to that poor beast? Why did it need all that work so soon?

Mate its a Puma. 70,000 km and its stuffed. It astounds me that LR could produce a vehicle that is so fussy with the oil it requires and then send it all over the world where said oil is not available. I just keep laughing at the build quality, that's all you can do!!

A Puma Defender is a Defender fitted with the Puma engine - so the 2.4 and later the 2.2.

Justin, I don't think anyone actually read your thread!

It was his interpretation of a puma

Careful you are not allowed to say anything negative about Pumas on this site.

Go and buy any new vehicle regardless of make,car-truck-earthmover-tractor etc and run 20W 40 mineral oil in it and see how far you get.Nice rant. Pat
