The fog light surround just clips in. I had one fall off my D3 when I clipped a wallaby. I reckon someone may have bumped into your one and it fell off on the road. Maybe get a second hand one from a wrecker?

Unless there's evidence of previous work done in that area (warranty claim for paint on the bar or they know you've had an accident) & no current evidence of impact damage anywhere in the area, then it's warranty.
Land Rover need to have the failed part for a claim but obviously they can't if it's fallen off. The dealer simply claims it as 'suspected loose retainer clips' or whatever secures the surround.

They have now agreed to take photos and send to Land Rover...wasn't an easy conversation and they did say they don't have the defective part...I pointed out that argument fails the reasonable in the circumstances test.
