    Safety cert in Brisbane

    Hello.

I have a 68 SWB 11A which I am working towards having registered. Does anyone know a business in Brisbane that can undertake the safety certificate and understands old cars?

Also, does any one have a photo of how the seat belts are mounted behind the seats in a truck cab? I understand the angle bracket at the top of the cab and the one mounted to the bottom of the seat box but I cant seem to find any pictures of how the female buckle attaches to the seat box behind the seats.

    Thanks in advance.

    Cheers

It's a long time since I've owned a series lr but from memory I think the seatbelt mounts to the bulkhead behind the seats. Could be wrong, It's been a long time.

I don't think that it would have come with seatbelts originally so whatever is fitted would not be original anyway so might be best not to fit them for the safety certificate or you may need to get a mod plate. My 1968 2a didn't come with belts and was fine to register but my 1972 s3 had some retractable ones retrofitted and I needed a plate which was an extra $50 from the bloke doing the rwc.

Looks like you are on the southside so as far as a safety certificate goes, pm The hohars, they have registered a few so should know someone.

Here are a couple I have found

A couple of images I have tracked down. I am in the same boat. Need to fit them to my 67 2A.

John English at Newmarket Road Wilston might be an option for safety certificate. He knows an Engineer if you need any certifications as well. Just down behind Malray clutch.
