    Power Fold Wing Mirror Problem

RHS Wing Mirror on MY10 is out of action after being overextended forwards during a tricky recovery. It no longer folds in/out however I can hear the motor run for approx. 10 seconds when activated. Seems like gearing is disconnected or destroyed. I'm going to open up for inspection this week - does anyone have experience or access to manuals / diagrams?

I just lubed mine up last night as they were sticking a little, just grab the painted section and pull it off, it unclips easy, you will then find the inners which you may locate your problem.

Thanks. Mine were squeaking during warranty and the people sprayed copious amounts of lubricant in past the mirrors, obviously unaware of how to remove the covers. For weeks I cleaned-up oil drips on the doors. I'll remove the covers and have a peek at the mechanisms to see if they need cleaning.

Well I have worked out how and got the cover comes off.
But no obvious place to squirt the lube.
Other than where I would have squirted it with the cover in situ.
    Any advice?
    RP7 or Silicone spray?

If your folding mirrors are making noise when folding in or out I was advised by the service manager of my dealer to simply put vaseline onto the pivot and manually push the mirror all the way forward past it's normal position, towards the bonnet and back 30 times. To get at the pivot you pull the mirror into the car and put some on your finger and rub it in as best you can. I suggested using a spray lubricant or graphite and was told not to. No need to take the cover off. This is done with the ignition off.

    What Letherm said.

I found the same advice in a search of the web It was one of those fault fixing announcements from Land Rover which gave exactly that advice (only I can't find it again). It works for me.

Apparently the multiple manual folds and unfolds of the mirror redistributes the OEM lubricant.

... Can anyone suggest where to locate OEM replacements - Colour coded for MY14? i.e. A Sandy colour?
