    Sliders/steps

Just after some advice re. sliders for my new (to me) D4. I previously had a D2 which I set up over time. One of the things i had which I really liked where my sliders/steps. They were ARB ones. I now want to slowly set up the D4 over time & one thing I loved about the ARB steps was that it stopped a LOT of car park "door-dings" whilst also being bush practical. Hence this is one of the first mods I would like to do. What are peoples thoughts/recommendations on these ? I am located in Melb. (Peninsula) & am looking for options. Any places & prices much appreciated. Thanks a lot.

Arb only ever made steps, not sliders. Now have a look at the apt fabrication ones. Pretty sure tombie on here posted a pic of his ones. Apt are great quality, Aussie made from a small Aussie company and sponsor on here

    Hi Gofish,

Gordon (GGHaggis) makes some excellent rock sliders in both steel and aluminium and he is a vendor here on the forum.
Another bloke called Brad who is up in Queensland makes them as well, only thing is he has not been on the forum since last November. I have emailed him recently so if I hear back from him I will pass on his details unless anyone else has his contact details and can share them.

    Try Gordon.
    Cheers,
    Terry

I have Brads on my D3. If I did it again I would get the wider ones. he has ones like mine which are a fairly close fit to the car and another with a much wider gap.

He will ask which ones you want. The close or skinny ones look great and work well on rocks and brush BUT when dirty and when you are climbing in it is very possible to brush your pants on the slider as you get in off road. The wider ones might make you use it as a step avoiding this minor but occasional muddy event

I do use the slider with my high left jack at times not that Brad recommends that
